Sustainability and Social Responsibility

Trondheim Marathon is becoming one of the major running events in Norway. In 2019, prior to the pandemic, we had 7,700 registered participants — making us one of the country’s largest marathons, following Oslo Marathon and Bergen City Marathon. During the event days, the city center transforms into a festive arena, with Torvet and Olav Tryggvason Square serving as the central hub.

Our route loops through the heart of Trondheim, showcasing the city in its beautiful autumn colors. Experience Trondheim (#opplevtrondheim) is a key message we promote, aiming to boost tourism to Trondheim and the surrounding region. The course is designed to highlight many of the city’s historical and cultural landmarks.

An event of this scale demands a great deal from the community, the city, and its residents. Several roads are closed, requiring traffic to be rerouted. This is necessary to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, and to create a memorable and well-organized event atmosphere. We are committed to creating added value for our stakeholders. With this comes a responsibility — our responsibility to the community.
